VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO ENTER
BRAZIL


For Tourist Visa

  1. Your valid, signed U.S. passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Brazil. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.

  2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.

  3. One (1) Passport-type Photograph, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.

  4. A copy of round-trip arline tickets or a flight itinerary.

  5. Provide a letter of invitation from the host in Brazil if you are visiting friends or relatives.

  6. A copy of your driver's license.

  7. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).


For Business Temporary II Visa (Business negotiations, Sales and Marketing)


  1. Your valid, signed U.S. passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Brazil. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.

  2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed. Applicants must fill out the section "Comments" under item 21 (purpose of trip) on the visa application form. Applicants must also explain in detail what they are going to do in Brazil.

  3. One (1) Passport-type Photograph, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.

  4. A copy of drivers license.

  5. A copy of round-trip arline tickets or a flight itinerary.

  6. A business letter of responsibility (Sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:

    Embassy of Brazil, Visa Section, Washington, D.C.

    The letter must explain all of the following:
    • The purpose of visit
    • Business reference in Brazil to be visited
    • Company guarantee of financial responsibility for the applicant and their return transportation to the U.S.

  7. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).


For Business Temporary V Visa (Technical Support, such as installation, repair, start-up, software development, etc.)

  1. Your valid, signed U.S. passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Brazil. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.

  2. Two (2) Visa Application Forms, fully completed and signed. Applicants must fill out the section "Comments" under item 21 (purpose of trip) on the visa application form. Applicants must also explain in detail what they are going to do in Brazil.

  3. One (1) Passport-type Photograph, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.

  4. A copy of round-trip arline tickets or a flight itinerary.

  5. A copy of drivers license.

  6. Recent non-criminal record issued by the local Police Department.

  7. A business letter of responsibility (Sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:

    Embassy of Brazil, Visa Section, Washington, D.C.

    The letter must explain all of the following:
    • The purpose of visit
    • Business reference in Brazil to be visited
    • Company guarantee of financial responsibility for the applicant and their return transportation to the U.S.


Official/Diplomatic Travel

  1. Your Official/Diplomatic passport, must be signed and have at least 6 months remaining validity.

  2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.

  3. One (1) recent Passport-type Photograph.

  4. U.S. Department of State visa cover letter.

  5. Completed Visa Order Form (print from browser).

Your application will be checked and hand carried to the Embassy and is usually processed in 4-7 business days. Rush service is not available.


Visa Information

  • The Embassy of Brazil processing fee is not refundable.
  • International Certificate of Vaccination for yellow fever is required if arriving in Brazil within 3 months of visiting any area of an infected country.
  • Information and visa fees are subject to change without notice.


Important Note: If you require a Rush processing, please call before you mail your documents to us. You MUST send your documents to us by FedEx Overnight/Priority Overnight/First Overnight and call us with your FedEx tracking number. Fail to do so will delay your visa processing.
