VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO ENTER
BURKINA FASO


For Tourist Visa

  1. Your valid, signed U.S. passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Burkina Faso. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.
  2. Two (2) Visa Application Forms, fully completed and signed.
  3. Two (2) Passport-type Photographs, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.
  4. A copy of round-trip arline tickets or a flight itinerary.
  5. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).


For Business Visa

  1. Your valid, signed U.S. passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Burkina Faso. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.
  2. Two (2) Visa Application Forms, fully completed and signed.
  3. Two (2) Passport-type Photographs, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.
  4. A copy of round-trip arline tickets or a flight itinerary.
  5. A business letter of responsibility (Sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:

    Embassy of Burkina Faso, Visa Section, Washington, D.C.

    The letter must explain all of the following:
    • The purpose of visit
    • Business reference in Burkina Faso to be visited
    • Company guarantee of financial responsibility for the applicant and their return transportation to the U.S.

  6. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).


Official/Diplomatic Travel

  1. Your Official/Diplomatic passport, must be signed and have at least 6 months remaining validity.
  2. Two (2) Visa Application Forms, fully completed and signed.
  3. Two (2) recent Passport-type Photographs.
  4. U.S. Department of State visa cover letter.
  5. Completed Visa Order Form (print from browser).

Visa Information

  • The Embassy of Burkina Faso usually issues a Tourist/Business visa valid for 5 years from the date of issue and valid for a stay in Afghanistan of up to 3 months.
  • Information and visa fees are subject to change without notice.


Important Note: If you require a Rush processing, please call before you mail your documents to us. You MUST send your documents to us by FedEx Overnight/Priority Overnight/First Overnight and call us with your FedEx tracking number. Fail to do so will delay your visa processing.
