VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO ENTER
INDIA

For Tourist Visa

1. Your valid, signed U.S. passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in India. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.
   
   
2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.
   
   
3. Two (2) Passport-type Photographs, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.
   
   
4. A copy of round-trip arline tickets or a flight itinerary.
   
   
5. A copy of your driver's license as a proof of residence.
   
   
6. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).

For Business Visa

1. Your valid, signed U.S. passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in India. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.
   
   
2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.
   
   
3. Two (2) Passport-type Photographs, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.
   
   
4. An invitation letter from a host/sponsor in India.
   
   
5. A copy of round-trip arline tickets or a flight itinerary.
   
   
6. A copy of your driver's license as a proof of residence.
   
   
7. A business letter of responsibility (Sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
   
   Indian Consulate General, Visa Section
   
   The letter must explain all of the following:
   • The purpose of visit
   • Business reference in India to be visited
   • Company guarantee of financial responsibility for the applicant and their return transportation to the U.S.
     
     
8. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).

Official/Diplomatic Travel

1. Your Official/Diplomatic passport, must be signed and have at least 6 months remaining validity.
   
   
2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.
   
   
3. Two (2) recent Passport-type Photograph.
   
   
4. U.S. Department of State visa cover letter.
   
   
5. Completed Visa Order Form (print from browser).
