VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO ENTER
LIBYA

For Tourist Visa

1. Your valid, signed U.S. passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Libya. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.
   
   
2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.
   
   
3. Two (2) Passport-type Photographs, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.
   
   
4. An approval document or a government authorization to enter Libya (supplied by Libyan Tour Operator).
   
   
5. An official Arabic Translation performed by the Arab Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. of your passport vital pages is required. (E&G Visa Services can provide this service).
   
   
6. A copy of round-trip airline tickets or a flight itinerary.
   
   
7. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).

For Business Visa

2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.
   
   
3. Two (2) Passport-type Photographs, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.
   
   
4. An approval document or a government authorization to enter Libya (supplied by a Libyan corporate/organization sponsor).
   
   
5. An official Arabic Translation performed by the Arab Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. of your passport vital pages is required. (E&G Visa Services can provide this service).
   
   
6. A copy of round-trip airline tickets, or a flight itinerary.
   
   
7. A business letter of responsibility (Sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
   
   Embassy of Libya, Visa Section, Washington, D.C.
   
   The letter must explain all of the following:
   • The purpose of visit
   • Business reference in Libya to be visited
   • Company guarantee of financial responsibility for the applicant and their return transportation to the U.S.
     
     
8. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).

Official/Diplomatic Travel

1. Your Official/Diplomatic passport, must be signed and have at least 6 months remaining validity.
   
   
2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.
   
   
3. Two (2) recent Passport-type Photographs.
   
   
4. U.S. Department of State visa cover letter.
   
   
5. Completed Visa Order Form (print from browser).

Your application will be checked and hand carried to the Embassy and is usually processed in 3-5 business days. If the Arab Chamber of Commerce Translation is needed, your application will take 2 more business days in addition to the embasy 3-5 business days processing. Please also note that the Libyan embasy is closed on Fridays.
