VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO ENTER
NIGERIA

For Tourist/Visitor Visa

  1. Your valid, signed U.S. passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Nigeria. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.

  2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.

  3. One (1) Passport-type Photograph, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.

  4. Copy of round-trip airline tickets, or a flight itinerary.

  5. For minors:
    A copy of child's birth certificate is required, AND
    A signed, notarized letter of consent by both parents is required, AND
    Copies of both parents' passports (information page).

  6. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).


For Business Visa


  1. Your valid, signed U.S. passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Nigeria. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.

  2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.

  3. One (1) Passport-type Photograph, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.

  4. Copy of round-trip tickets, or a flight itinerary.

  5. Copy of invitation letter from the host company/organization in Nigeria (fax acceptable).

  6. A business letter of responsibility (Sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:

    Embassy of Nigeria, Visa Section, Washington, D.C.

    The letter must explain all of the following:
    • The purpose of visit
    • Business reference in Nigeria to be visited
    • Company guarantee of financial responsibility for the applicant and their return transportation to the U.S.

  7. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).



TWP (Temporary Work Permit)

  1. Your valid, signed U.S. passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Nigeria. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.

  2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.
    Please note: The embassy will charge $112.00 for application fee, an additional $100.00 for processing fee and $65.00 if the application is needed to be expedited and these fees will have be paid through us.

  3. One (1) Passport-type Photograph, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.

  4. Copy of round-trip tickets, or a flight itinerary.

  5. An approval from Nigeria for Temporary Work Permit (must be original copy) from the Comptroller General Immigration (C.G.I)

  6. Copy of invitation letter from the host company/organization in Nigeria (fax acceptable).

  7. For religious visitors and missionary workers, applicants will require pre-approval from the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Nigeria.

  8. A business letter of responsibility (Sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:

    Embassy of Nigeria, Visa Section, Washington, D.C.

    The letter must explain all of the following:
    • The purpose of visit
    • Business reference in Nigeria to be visited
    • Company guarantee of financial responsibility for the applicant and their return transportation to the U.S.

STR (Subject To Regularization)

  1. Your valid, signed U.S. passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Nigeria. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.

  2. Four (4) Visa Application Forms, fully completed and signed.
    Please note: The embassy will charge $112.00 for application fee, an additional $235.00 for processing fee and $65.00 if the application is needed to be expedited and these fees will have be paid through us.

  3. Four (4) Passport-type Photographs, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.

  4. Copy of round-trip tickets, or a flight itinerary.

  5. Four (4) copies of approved expatriate quota from the Ministry of Interior.

  6. Four (4) copies of credentials and certificates (English Certified translated copy where applicable).

  7. Letter of offer of employment.

  8. Letter of acceptance of employment by expatriate.

  9. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).

Your application will be checked and hand carried to the Embassy and is usually processed in 7-10 business days. Rush services are available in 3-5 business days and same day/24 hour rush service for an additional consular fees.
