VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO ENTER
NIGERIA

For Tourist/Visitor Visa

  1. Your valid, signed passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Nigeria. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.


  2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.


  3. One (1) Passport-type Photograph, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.


  4. A letter of invitation from the host in Nigeria and a copy of his/her Nigerian Passport. If only for tourism (not visiting anyone in Nigeria), please provide a hotel confirmation.


  5. A copy of your most recent bank statement.


  6. For Non-US Citizens, please also provide a copy of US Permanent Resident (Green) Card.


  7. For minors(Under the Age of 18), please provide a copy of the child's birth certificate.


  8. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).


For Business Visa


  1. Your valid, signed passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Nigeria. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.


  2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.


  3. One (1) Passport-type Photograph, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.


  4. For Non-US Citizens, please also provide a copy of US Permanent Resident (Green) Card.


  5. Copy of invitation letter from the host company/organization in Nigeria (fax acceptable).


  6. A business letter of responsibility (Sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:

    Embassy of Nigeria, Visa Section, Washington, D.C.

    The letter must explain all of the following:
    • The purpose of visit
    • Business reference in Nigeria to be visited
    • Company guarantee of financial responsibility for the applicant and their return transportation to the U.S.

Payment can be made by One (1) money order payable to E&G Visa Services to cover the total of all three (3) fees OR by Credit Card (please fill out your credit card information on our Visa Order Form). Total Fee is (Consular Fee + Service Fee + Return Postage Fee).

Your application will be checked and hand carried to the Embassy and is usually processed in 4-5 weeks. Rush services are available in 7-10 business days and 2-3 business days for additional consular and service fees. Please also note that the Nigerian Embassy is closed every Fridays.
