VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO ENTER
SOUTH AFRICA

 

NOTE: U.S. citizens do not require a visa to visit South Africa for a stay up to 90 days. A valid U.S. passport with a remaining validity of 6 month beyond your intended stay in South Africa is required. A visa is REQUIRED for Religious Mission Travel.

For Tourist Visa (Non-U.S. Citizens)

  1. Your valid, signed passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in South Africa. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.
  2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.
  3. Two (2) Passport-type Photograph, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.
  4. A copy of round-trip airline tickets or a flight itinerary.
  5. A copy of green card or proof of legal status in the US.
  6. A copy of hotel confirmation.
  7. A copy of recent bank statement.
  8. A copy of current Medical Insurance Policy showing details of coverage.
  9. An International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever.
  10. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).


For Business Visa (Non-U.S. Citizens)

  1. Your valid, signed  passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Afghanistan. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.
  2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.
  3. Two (2) Passport-type Photograph, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.
  4. A copy of round-trip airline tickets or a flight itinerary.
  5. A copy of green card or proof of legal status in the US.
  6. A copy of hotel confirmation.
  7. A copy of recent bank statement.
  8. A copy of current Medical Insurance Policy showing details of coverage.
  9. An International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever.
  10. A business letter of responsibility (Sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:

    Embassy of South Africa, Visa Section, Washington, D.C.

    The letter must explain all of the following:
    • The purpose of visit
    • Business reference in South Africa to be visited
    • Company guarantee of financial responsibility for the applicant and their return transportation to the U.S.
