VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO ENTER
TAIWAN


For Tourist Visa

  1. Your valid, signed U.S. passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Taiwan. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.
  2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.
  3. Two (2) Passport-type Photograph, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.
  4. A copy of round-trip airline tickets or a flight itinerary.
  5. A letter addressed to the Embassy of Taiwan detailing the purpose of your visit and plans of your stay in Taiwan.
  6. For Non-U.S. Citizens, also provide the following:

o    A hotel confirmation

o    A copy of recent bank statement

o    A copy of green card or proof of legal status in the US

  1. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).


For Business Visa

  1. Your valid, signed U.S. passport, must have at least 6 months remaining validity beyond your intended stay in Taiwan. You must have at least one (1) blank visa page. Amendment pages do not count.
  2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.
  3. Two (2) Passport-type Photograph, must be 2" x 2" and taken recently.
  4. A copy of round-trip airline tickets or a flight itinerary.
  5. For Non-U.S. Citizens, also provide the following:

o    A Letter of Invitation from host or organization in Taiwan

o    A copy of recent bank statement

o    A copy of green card or proof of legal status in the US

  1. A business letter of responsibility (Sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:

    Embassy of Taiwan, Visa Section, Washington, D.C.

    The letter must explain all of the following:
    • The purpose of visit
    • Business reference in Taiwan to be visited
    • Company guarantee of financial responsibility for the applicant and their return transportation to the U.S.
  2. Complete our Visa Order Form (print from browser).


Official/Diplomatic Travel

  1. Your Official/Diplomatic passport, must be signed and have at least 6 months remaining validity.
  2. One (1) Visa Application Form, fully completed and signed.
  3. Two (2) recent Passport-type Photograph.
  4. U.S. Department of State visa cover letter.
  5. Completed Visa Order Form (print from browser).

Your application will be checked and hand carried to the Embassy and is usually processed in 3 business days. Rush service is available in 24 hours for additional consular fees.


Visa Information

  • U.S. citizens do not require visa to enter Taiwan for tourist or business purposes for a maximum stay of 30 days (no extension permitted). For over 30 days stay, visa is required.
  • Information and visa fees are subject to change without notice.


Important Note: If you require a Rush processing, please call before you mail your documents to us. You MUST send your documents to us by FedEx Overnight/Priority Overnight/First Overnight and call us with your FedEx tracking number. Fail to do so will delay your visa processing.
